How Ark Nova scoring works
Ark Nova has two tracks that move toward each other: appeal and conservation. The game ends once someone's markers meet. Your final score is how far your appeal has got past your conservation target, so it can be negative, and usually is for everyone except the winner.
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 🃏 Final scoring cards | Score them first. They move your markers. |
| 💼 Sponsor effects | Apply any end-of-game sponsor effects next. |
| 🦁 Appeal | Read your appeal value. |
| 🌍 Conservation target | Read the target number at your conservation marker. |
| 🧮 Final score | Appeal minus target. The sheet does this subtraction. |
Breaking a tie
If players finish level, the one who supported the most conservation projects wins. The sheet asks for that only when there's a tie at the top.
Using this score sheet
Do I need to go through every step?
No. Skip to the score sheet whenever you like and type straight into the boxes. Tap any row name to jump back into guided entry at that category.
What is the mistake offset for?
For a correction you spot after the fact. Add or take away the difference there instead of hunting for the right box. It can be positive or negative.
Are my scores saved?
Yes, in your browser's storage on this device. Close the tab and your game is still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to us.
Why is my score negative?
Because your markers never crossed. A negative score means your appeal stayed short of your conservation target. It's normal for everyone except the winner.
